Word on the street is that Chris is "paranoid". According to sources, after receiving what’s considered legitimate death threats following his February 8th incident with Rihanna, Brown has had to step up his security detail. A source says the threats have made Brown “totally paranoid,” especially considering there have been “indications the potential assassin could be disguised as a paparazzi.” Billboard is reporting that Chris Brown lost a bid to delay a preliminary hearing in his assault case, which his attorney argued should wait for a related California Supreme Court decision. Court records show the appeal was rejected Tuesday (June 9); no reason was given.
At the hearing, Rihanna will be present. Representatives from the L.A. district attorney's office placed a subpoena in Rihanna's hand Tuesday during a prearranged meeting at her attorney’s office, lawyer Donald Etra said. The order requires the 21-year-old performer to show up to the downtown courthouse June 22, but it is not a guarantee that she will testify.
